AIPMT Exam Pattern
The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
The duration of the paper would be 3 hours.
The finally Examination would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions(four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
The duration of the paper would be 3 hours.
Candidate can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi. This option should be exercised while filling in the Application Form. It cannot be changed later.
There were 200 questions 4 mark each. A total of 800 marks. There -1 mark for wrong answers. In order to get into main exams a candidate should attempt minimum of 110 questions with 90% accuracy.

The cutoff details for Prelim is fixed. It is published in the prospectus page 9. The cutoff is calculated with all subjects added together. There is no cutoff by subject.
- General Category: Minimum of 50% (400/800 marks)
- General-PH: Min: Minimum of 45% (360/800)
- SC/ST/OBC: Minimum of 40% (320/800 marks)
- SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH: Minimum of 40% (320/800 marks)
