MGIMS PMT Merit Procedure
Determination of Merit
- Merit shall be determined on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the Candidate in the Entrance Examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Gandhian Thought.
- Candidate must obtain at least 24 marks (40%) in paper II (Gandhian Thought) of the Competitive Entrance Examination to be eligible for consideration in merit.
- All candidates except those mentioned in 10.4 below must secure not less than 90 marks (50%) in paper I (Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together) in the Competitive entrance Examination to be eligible for consideration in merit.
- In respect to candidates belonging to SC, ST ,V.J. , N.T. and OBC including SBC , the marks obtained in paper I (Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together) at competitive Entrance Examination should not be less than 72 marks (40%) to be eligible for consideration in the merit.
- There is no provision of re-evaluation of answer sheets.
- Tie breaker: If two or more candidates obtain same marks in entrance examination and there is a tie, the following procedure shall be adopted to break the tie in the sequence given below (a-e).
- First preference will be given to the candidate who has secured higher total aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the Entrance Examination. In case the tie is still there, then
- Preference shall be decided on the basis of marks secured in Biology in the Entrance Examination. Should a tie still persist
- It shall be broken on the basis of marks obtained in Chemistry in the Entrance Examination. If the tie still persists
- It shall be broken on the basis of percentage of aggregate marks at the S.S.C. Examination. If the tie still persists
- The elder candidate shall be preferred over the younger one.
