The Jaypee Institute of Information Technology Declared deemed to be University Under Section 3 of UGC Act. 1957 vide Notification No. F.9-27/2000-U.3 dated 1st November, 2004 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and further extended vide their letter of even No. dated 01 Oct 2008.

Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) was the first amongst three Institutes raised by the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS).

The Institute is fully backed and supported by the Jaypee Group of Companies who recognize the role of IT and emerging technologies in improving the quality of life of the people in India. It is envisaged that JIIT will play a leading role in the development of technical manpower and research programs comparable to the best in India and the world. JIIT:
The Jaypee Institute of information Technology, Noida, U.P. was recognized as a Deemed University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India vide notification No. F.9-27/2000.U3 dated November 1, 2004 which has further been extended vide Notification of even No. dated October 01, 2008. JIIT has two campuses located at sector-62 and sector-128 respectively. JIIT, Noida (Deemed University) is granted "Status Quo" by the Hon'ble Supreme Court vide its order dated 25 Jan, 2010 and subsequent hearings. JUIT:
JUIT has been set up under Act 14 of 2002 of the Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh and approved by the University Grants Commission under section 2(f) of the UGC Act.
