Goa Common Entrance Test (CET) Examination
Goa Common Entrance Test (Goa CET) is the entrance test that is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education under the Government of GOA every year in the month of May. This common entrance test is organized for admissions in bachelor`s degree programmes in several fields such as Engineering, Architecture and Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry. These professional degree courses are offered by a number of government aided as well as private colleges and institutes within the state of Goa.
GOA CET Examination Pattern:
GOA Common entrance test is conducted as according to the GOA CET examination pattern set by G-CET.So the engineering aspirants from GOA go through exam pattern carefully to achieve better exam results in engineering entrance exam.
Goa common entrance test (GCET) examination consists of five sets of question papers that are based on the core subjects such as
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Science. The candidates need to appear for a complete different combination of subjects as per their preferred field of study (either in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering and Architecture).
Goa common entrance exam is conducted in three parts as given below..
1.) Mathematics
2.) Physics
3.) Chemistry
THE pattern of Goa CET is describe as follows
a. Each part carries 75 Multiple Choice Questions of one mark each.
b. The test paper of this entrance test comprises objective types of questions.
c. Test is to be completed within two hours.
d. Each of the questions carries one mark and there is no negative marking scheme for wrong or multiple choice.
Application Forms for Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET):
The interested students can get the prospectus and the application form for Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) by making payment of the requisite amount. The candidates can make the payment either by cash or by making a nationalized bank demand draft drawn in favour of `Goa Education Development Corporation`. The candidates need to submit the completed application form before the last date of submission along with three passport sized photographs. The candidates can obtain their photo admit card for the examination on the same day of the submission of the application form.
Selection Process for Goa common entrance test (GCET):
The final list of the short listed candidates is prepared on the basis of the performance in the entrance test as well as on the basis of their academic qualifications. The merit list is displayed at the Admission Centre and also on the official website of the conducting Board. The candidates need to show all the essential documents at the time of admissions including original and attested copies of mark sheets. Total three admissions rounds are conducted for selecting the students.

B. Pharm - Bachelor of Pharmacy,
BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery,
BHMS - Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery,
MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
Eligibility Criteria GOA CET:
In order to appear for Goa common entrance test (GCET), the candidates need to fulfill any of the mentioned eligibility qualification for GOA CET requirements each and every individual courses through GOA Common Entrance Test as described as follows
Residential requirement:
Applicant belonging to General Category must have studied and passed Std. XIIth or equivalent examination from schools/colleges in the State of Goa and must have resided in Goa continuously for a minimum period of 10 years (5 years for those whose either of the parents/ grandparents is born in Goa), immediately preceding the last date/month of application OR Be son/daughter of Government of Goa deputationists or employees posted outside Goa and must have passed the qualifying examination from Central Board.
Relaxations in Residential requirement:
1.) Any period spent by the applicant outside Goa on account of posting / leave/training / deputation of either of his / her parents being the Goa State Government Employee shall be counted towards the continuous residence of 10 years (5 years for those whose either of the parents/grand parents is born in Goa).
2.) Any period spent by the applicant in another State, under the scheme of Exchange Programme as the student of Navodaya Vidyalaya from Goa, shall be counted towards the ten years continuous residence in Goa (5 years for those whose either of the parents/grand parents is born in Goa).
3.) An applicant born in Goa and has studied and passed qualifying examination (Std. XIIth) from schools/colleges in the State of Goa, should have minimum residence of overall 10 years in the State of Goa, as on last date of submission of application for admission.
Eligibility Qualification:
The Directorate of Technical Education has set different eligibility criteria for different courses that come under Goa Common Entrance Test. These are given below.
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E):
This is only for the students who have Mathematics as one of the subject in their (10+2) standard. The candidate needs to have cleared 10+2 level of examination of Goa Board of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination, from a recognized Board.
The qualifying examination must be passed by the candidates with at least 50% marks and must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory with Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology as optional subjects.
In case of SC/ST and OBC candidates, a minimum of 40% marks are sufficient.
For MBBS, BDS, BHMS:
This is only for the students who have Biology as one of the subject in their (10+2) standard .The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of Goa Board of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
The qualifying examination must be passed by the candidates with minimum 50% marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry in aggregate, along with English in a single attempt.
For the SC/ST and OBC candidates, minimum of 40% marks are required in the qualifying examination.
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm):
The candidate must have cleared 10+2 level of examination of Goa Board of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination, from any recognized Board.
The candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate and should have studied English, Physics & Chemistry
compulsory subjects, while Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology must be studied as optional.
SC/ST and OBC candidates must have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate.
Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch):
The candidate must have passed 10+2 level of examination of Goa Board of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination, from any statutory Board.
The candidates should have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate, with Mathematics as one of the main subjects.
Candidates seeking admission in B Arch must have a valid score in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted online by Council of Architecture.
